Ever since blogging became a fad, I tried to come up with one myself. Unfortunately, I just can't think of any topic and just haven't had any time to keep it up and running. After years of thinking and a little bit of reflecting, I finally summed up enough courage to write about what I am really interested in, anything and everything queer. T'was hard coz I am somewhat of a closet case myself until I realized that the only way to succeed is to accept who and what I am, a shining shimmering Queer. Well enough about me being a closet queen, let me just tell you what this blog is all about and what my inspiration was in putting this up.
Let's just say that being a closet case, I never had anyone to run to while I was still in the stage wherein I had a lot of questions about Homosexuality. I tried turning to religion hoping that a higher being will somehow enlighten me, but instead, i got more confused. They preached of a god who created all things equal, yet within the church, no woman can become a leader. They preached of a god that gave us freedom of choice, yet they dictate what we should and shouldn't do. They preached that their is an all loving and forgiving god, yet they judge homosexuals and mark them as sinners who will eventually go to hell.
Then I turned to denial. Fooling myself that this is just a phase and that I will eventually find the girl of my dreams, be married, have children and live happily ever after. Wrong again! I just got more depressed.
And then there was rebellion. I blamed myself, my family and my creator. This didn't do me any good as well.
Finally I accepted my sexuality and with the help of the internet, I was able to find most of the answers to the questions that bugged me, eversince I felt the tingling sensation everytime I see a cute guy and eversince I noticed that unconciously my pinky had an unusual reflex wherein it raises above my other fingers whenever I hold a cup.
But the search for the answer wasn't easy. There was no guidebook, no Homosexuality for Dummies, or Gay 101 lecture. There were just individual sites that could help you out but never gave all of the answers. Thus I came up with this blog to serve as a guide to anything and everything you need to know about being Queer. Hopefully this will help the closet cases go out of their comfort zones, the confused to discover what they really are, the truth seekers to find their path of enlightenment and the rebels to realize that they are not alone. I am no expert on Homosexuality but I do hope that this may serve as a guide and a standard for anything and everything queer. I also hope that this may help educate, without being condescending, the straight people, homophobes and the conservatives on Homosexuality so as to break the great divide that is causing all the hate and discrimination against us. Whatever this blog may contain, It is made in good faith and is no way created to offend anyone nor give labels. This is just to give everyone a better understanding of anything and everything queer.
